if you need a manual for a west bend, go to focuselectrics.com click on "WEST BEND" click on "REPLACEMENT PARTS" select "BREADMAKERS" select model # and then download manual!! hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!

The bearing has "coked", that is, got oil in it and burned to carbon freezing it.

Remove a "C" clip on the bottom of the shaft and with some penetrating oil carefully drive the shaft out.

Clean the bearing and the shaft with crocus cloth and re-lube with foodsafe grease and re-assemble.

I guess its not too old, Westbend still had this plug.
