Tissot Diver Seastar 1000 Auto Steel Large Bracelet Watch - Silver Dial T19.1.583.31 - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I took my Tissot automatic PSC 200 in for service and the repair shop said it is a fake because it has plastic parts. He said a watch of tis quality doesn't use plastic parts in it.
Not entirely true. Most watches in a range will be assembled with a standard-sized time mechanism. So the manufacturer can "Bulk-out" the mechanism with a plastic housing to get it to sit into the bigger watch enclosures. I have several Tissot's, so I change the batteries myself. A few have plastic frames to bed-in the mechanism. You'd need to move to high end ($5k-10k+) watches to avoid plastic. A PSC200 retails for around $1000?
There are a few basic checks you can do to re-assure yourself that its legit. (1) Did it come in the standard Tissot box, complete with history booklet, warranty booklet and stamped retailers warranty card? (2) Is there an engraved/embossed Tissot detail on the back cover, with model number, , sometimes a collection serial number, waterproof details etc. (3) Is the face scratch-proof crystal or does it sound thin and cheap when you tap it? (4) Are the second / minute markers and fractional-second markers clearly defined, or are they a cheap and blurry paint job? (5) Are the minute and second hands precision cut, with crisp sharp edges, or are the pressed tin with 'soft' rounded edges? (6) Does it have tiny but clearly legible "Swiss Made" text around the 6 O'Clock position?
If you're concerned, bring it to another Tissot retailer and ask them to check it out. They would be more familiar with the Tissot range and manufacturing techniques.

Date change
Hi.
I take it that your watch changes date at 12 noon, instead of 12 midnight.
If so change the time of your watch 12 hours, so it reads the same time, but instead of am, it is pm, or visa versa. Analog watches do not have a 24 hour time setting.
Tissot classic xxl date issues
I do not think there is anything you can to it to make it change date at exactly 00:00 hours (your time). Unless you want to consider this a major defect and send it for repairs.
In my opinion it is an idiosyncrasy that one can live with.
Prc 200 needing battery replaced every week!!! i
Your watch is draining the charge on the battery. It is possible that you have a bad coil or circuit block that is causing the battery to die. An acceptable battery should last you at least 9 months to a year. You need to send your watch in to the manufacturer to have them fix the motor.
Hello,
I just bought a Tissot
Well that shouldn't happen at all, that is meant to stay in the case.
It isn't entirely broken, as you put it, indeed, any watch maker, worth their salt, will be able to repair this watch pretty easy, well as long as parts are available.
look the best thing to do is take the watch in to your local watch repairer and ask for a "Quote" as to costings, then go from there?
I have a Tissot Navigator
The only way I know of resetting the sceen on these is to remove the battery let it set for half hour or more and replace the battery, this should reset any memory that is locked up, if this does not clear the issue it will need to be taken in to a repair shop for a diagnostic check.
Hi,
I've got a broken
Two of the spring-bars broke on the clasp of my PRS200, so I took it to an un-named watch repair shop that was closer than the Tissot-authorized store (Leslie Gold Watch Co.) at which I bought the item 5 years prior. After the repair, the clasp kept popping off, so I took it to the Tissot store, and they told me that it was because the ends of the bars didn't fit properly. They replaced the faulty bars for me at no cost, and the watch has been sitting on my wrist fine for the last year-and-a-half.
Where can i get a tissot watch back removal key
I am a beginning watchmaking student, but my understanding is that the key is Tissot's number for the crystal removal tool. Apparently you have to remove th crystal to get at the dial, remove the hands and dial, and unlock the stem, and lift the movt out. I have the same problem on a Visodate and haven't gotten around to trying it yet. Any good crystal puller?fitter should work.
