Omnitech 9 Sheet Crosscut Shredder "staples paper shredders repair" Questions

Staples Shredder SPL-TXC22A makes a "clunking" noise during use. Noise diminished after feeding a couple of WD-40 soaked paper towels but noise returned. Fixable?just use it until it dies and replace?
