master cylinder. the clutch uses DOT 3 brake fluid. there is no adjustment on pedal freeplay in most cases you have a bad clutch master cylinder or slave losing pedal pressure try bleeding the air out

...out of it's holder to effectively lengthen it. Check the fluid level in the master cylinder. Make sure it is full enough to fully release clutch pressure plate when you depress the clutch
