Marantz SR4002 "connect optical audio" Questions

optical audio out. I have plugged the optical cable from the tv out and into the DVD optical 1 input and receive no sound? I have setup the audio to optical 1 and still not sound? What is the problem?

#39;t think optical connection is set up correctly Check your tv's setup menu. Some tv's require you to turn on the optical audio output. It defaults to being turned off unless you go in and change it
