fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse now the right channel has no audio and the left channel puts out the same distorted audio. When I remove the left channel fuse it reverts back to its origial state.

...blown internal fuses- replace and try again .... or failed thermal fuse in mains transformer. this is a workshop repair as it involves mains voltage that can kill :) stick your finger in your mouth ...

Reciever wont go on I get "Protect" Display on my reciever Your are running out of power !! you may have a blown fuse(s). I had the same thing and I replaced two blown fuses and OK now.

blown fuse inside the unit. Disconnect from power, let stand 20 minutes to make sure the high voltage caps are drained. Open and look for a fuse near where the electrical cord goes in. Remove and test

...another amplifier and if it works from there your onkyo must be in trouble. open the unit and check for any blown fuse, if found any replace it w/ the same value, do not replace fuses w/ higher
