Rio CE2100 MP3 Player "mode dial loose" Questions

dial is ANOTHER tab...pain to work...then on each side and bottom there are 2 tabs (2 right hand side, 2 LHS, 2 bottom) so a total of 10 tabs. My Rio CE2100 is stuck in upgrader/recovery mode too...so

...dial light blue, nohing else, when i plu it in, nothing. the blue light will stay on for however long the battery lasts, is there anyhting i can do to fix it? Solutions are in order of increasing ...
