Panasonic PT-AE3000U LCD Projector "hdmi working" Questions

I HAVE A RUNCO PROJECTOR CL810 BUT THE HDMI IS NOT WORKING WHY HDMI NO WORKING WHY The HDMI requires an expensive cable. You can't just hook up any old HDMI cable. Especially if you are attempting 3D.
