J & P Cycles should have them

Hi, Robert to avoid premature engine wear and damage this condition should be eliminated "ASAP" and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel octane rating too low.
2. Compression too high due to excessive carbon deposit buildup on top of the piston, top of the cylinder bore, and cylinder head dome.
3. Engine overheating due to lack of lubrication, coolant, or lack of cool air passing by top-end cooling fins due to accessories or bike not moving.
4. The engine is under a heavy load due to riding double overweight luggage etc.
5. Fuel-air mixture too lean or too rich.
6. Outside air temperature too hot for the load (dessert).
7. Faulty knock sensor.
8. Electronic ignition timing too far advanced due to faulty sensor inputs (MAP, CKP, CMP)
9. Points plate too far advanced or mechanical advance mechanism is worn out.
10. Blocked exhaust causing excessive backpressure.
11. Incorrect spark plugs for the kind of service causing overheated tip.

Hi, Lugnuttsplac for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can not find the best tool you ever bought for your Ultra, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

This sounds like a bad fuel pressure regulator, perhaps the fuel lines need new o rings or just to be replaced if changing the i ring isn't possible. I'm including a link, read up and see what applies to your bike. This should get you headed in the right direction! https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touring-models/856080-leaking-fuel-hose-at-gas-tank-injected.html

Were they adjusted too long or too short? Was it running for that '10 plus minutes'? Set too long and you risk hitting the valves, too short and the valves won't open properly. Depending on which one it was you might need to take the cylinder heads off to check the valves aren't damaged.

There is a strap available that clamps to the battery posts.. you could buy one of them.. or, you could work a strap or rope down under the battery and pull it up by that.
