Question about Suzuki GSX-R 750 Motorcycles

1 Answer

Okay i own 1996 suzuki gsxr750 now i have recently took everything off the bike to get parts painted tank, fairings, etc. while i was doing some minor things with the bike while it was completly stripped down one day i decided to turn the key and push the start button bike will crank and over a month or so i have done this maybe 2 or 3 times now last week i have done this. when i would turn the key i could hear a click by the tail and it would crank. Now this week i tried to do this and nothing.. i turn the key and no click and it wont crank over. motor has oil. theres no clicking noise, i went to my terminals for the starter solenod and jumped the leads with a screwdriver and starter turned the bike over. iam just curious to why all of sudden i hear no click.

Bike batteries need full charge to start a bike, if there is less than full charge you can't even push start them. No click generally means no charge, the clicking sound is the solenoid working.
When you just start the bike and run it at idle, even fast idle. The battery does not get sufficient charge. What you take out of it to start it, is more than what you put back in it when you run it at idle. Bikes need to be at road speed to charge efficiently.
Also just sitting around they discharge, you may have an earth leak also. That causes your battery to discharge at a more accelorated rate than normal. If it has a clock in it, this bleeds off a small amount of power but still enough if it isn't being correctly charged.

How to remove fuel tank 1990 suzuki gsxr750

Remove the riders seat and you'll see two bolts at the back of the tank...each side panel will need to be unclipped as they attach to the tank also.
Once done, the tank should be able to be slid backwards and lifted...just be careful of the fuel lines etc

I need to know is my 92 suzuki gsxr750 water cooled or is it an oil cooled (if thats even poosible) an where do u add coolant at ?

GSXR 750 '92 spec is oil cooled ( If you look at the front of the motor you will see a narrow slightly curved radiator that's the oil cooler) The water cooled bikes have a radiator cap at front right side of the fairing. If you cant find a radiator cap it's definately oil cooled. Safe Riding!

Hi i have a 96 gsxr750. the problem is it is difficult to start when its cold

Well with the bike being over ten years old I imagine it has had tune up's along the way? If it has been a while since putting a tune up on it that would be a good start. With the age of the engine you may want to talk to your parts dealer and go with a slightly hotter spark plug. Do you ever run fuel cleaner? I have had this clear up odd issues with different bikes but they are all different.Add while thinking about fuel, have you had the fuel filter changed?
