What is the correct sequence to start a 2011 PGO GMax 220 EFI
What is the correct sequence of events to start a PGO GMax 220?
This is what I do:
Push the immobilizer plate (part of the key) into the slot so that the keyhole opens.
Turn the key to the ignition setting.
Wait for all the lights to go out on the dash.
Pull in the rear brake.
Push ignition switch to ON.
Press starter button.
After doing all of this - the bike does not start. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you

Hi Matthew, that is a very vague description to work from I am afraid. Can you please give information about the state of the vehicle.s function before it stopped woekong. Did the vehicle have an event that stopped it working?
Did it have any symptoms at all before not working.
Have any investigations been carried out to diagnose the fault, if so what were the findings
It is possible, BUT take into consideration the weight factor. Can the frame hold the weight of the motor and rider. If the frame is designed for a larger motor then by all means go for it, But you should take it easy on jumps or rough riding. Just use good common sense and be smart about it. its only a small bike but if you come off it and it slaps you a shot in the head the rest of your life if there is any you start talking to you gold fish and getting ansews LOL.
First of all you need to programm all ignition keys using suitable diagnostic equipment (VAS, VAG-Com) connected to the data link connector of the car. You have an electronic immobilizer key recognition problem. Now your key chip is not recognized by the transponder antenna fitted on the ignition switch barrel.
Everytime when you had a new key you must programm all available ignition car keys before trying to start the engine with this new key !!! This warning lamp indicates that the engine is locked by the immobilizer system, and the engine start sequence must be repeat again.
From year 1995 in Audi-VW (VAG) cars is used engine immobilizer. The VAG group immobilizer system consists of an immobilizer ECU which controls the recognition of keys and the Engine Management ECU system. Immobilizer is activated when the ignition key is removed and, together with the engine control unit, largely prevents unauthorized starting of the engine. The system uses a transmitter and receiver unit in the ignition key (transponder). Whenever an attempt is made to start the engine, it transmits a new code to the car's electronics. The immobilizing is only cancelled and car motor electronic receives permission to start engine if the key sends a right authorization code.
