Remove the carburator to gain access. Unbolt the reed block from the back (rear) of the cylinder. You can replce the reed block assembly, or if you just got the reed pedals, they attatch with small screws. Use blue loc-tite #242 on the reed pedal screws so they don't loosen up. You will need to replace the gasket (s) with new ones and torque the cage bolts to spec. (Pay close attention when you remove it, so you know how it is re-assembled.)

Where is the reed valve on stihl ms 250

I don't generally like to work on 2cycles. Reed valves are under the carb on the ones I've seen. I watched this whole video of a 250 being disassembled and I didn't see reed valves. It looks like a ported piston design to me aka no reed valve. I'm willing to be wrong.

Here is an exploded diagram and I don't see reed valves on it.

How to find out compression problem on a 2003 kx 250

Just cause the piston looks fine dosent mean the rings are still good did you do a compression test if you don't have one buy one they are great to have with 2 stroke bikes put the cylinder head back on and cover spark plug hole with finger it should first **** a bit then should blow finger off the hole the compression should be greater than 120 psi of a 125 not sure on the 250 rule of thumb if you have less than 120 your piston or rings is pooched..

96 kx250 runs well but seems to lack topend power has had full engine rebuild and im positive that i set the powervalves correctly when reassembling the topend any suggestions,Thankyou

Try a .162 main jet,48 power jet, carb on 3 or 4th clip to the main jet.
Some boyser power reeds might help also about atotal of 60 to 75 bucks for the whole deal and that should get you to bonzai state in no time.

My 1989 rm 250 has just had a rebuild and is running fine but it wont go into the band

If you are referring to the power band, this is when your reed valves open.Check for cracked or damaged reeds. You need to remove carb and reeds are between carb and cylender.Check also the rubber boot that carb attaches to for cracks.this will cause intake air leak and cause reeds to not open properly.

Is a power valve spacer and i reed block spacer the same thing?

reed valves are in the intake rubber manifold, so the fuel mix can only go one way into the motor, Power valves are on the exhaust side of the motor and vary the exhaust porting to suit engine revs. They are not the same

Kx 125 reed valves

The reed valve assembly should hold solvent withot leaking. Remove for test. Disassemble and clean reeds and reed seat. Perfect seal is very important.

Good luck,
