Just bought a new 2008 Vstar 1300. Less than 500km. Took it out for a ride and felt it was not running right. No power. Returned home, only to find the exaughst pipe glowing red. Any idea what the problem is?

A bit more information please. With the bike in neutral does it vibrate as you rev up and release the throttle? Do you get any vibration when your accelerating as you ride? When you release the throttle but NOT brake does it happen? Do you get the vibration only when you brake?

Try checking the ignition itself (where your key goes), then ignition coil. also check relays, bad/bare wires, bad ground etc. etc. However, don't just go throwing parts at it hoping one sticks. Get a multi-meter and do it right.

Electical issues can be a pain.

Need cooling fanfixd...its too hot. Buy a clymer repairmanual. Nextime put a portablefan in front of motor to coolit...chec fluid level

Sounds like the vehicle is running retard. Check your timing

The pilot jets are clogged. the carburetors will need cleaned, and the pilot jets may need replaced. Alternatively, Seafoam in the intake and the fuel tank may allow for some improvement of the problem, but a carb rebuild is highly preferable.

Have you checked your ground connection at the frame/motor? No power with every protective device still intact sounds like a bad ground.

check the frame no or chases number, go to yamaha web site check colors and u can get code or go to near by dealers.
