Needing spares for a 1984 cagiva 125 motocross. been in a garage for years . water leaking into clutch housing probably through water pump. any idea where to get spares and gasket sets. Don`t know much about bikes but engine fires up and the rest seems quite basic.

SOURCE: water leak

The small hole under the water pump is the weep hole and is designed to start dripping water when your pump has a problem. You should remove the pump and find out what the problem is before it quits and leaves you stranded. Could be simply the seal, or the shaft may have become pitted.

With the brakes, I assume you have looked at the brake pads and they are good so bleeding is definitely the first option. If that does not fix it remove the calipers and check that the pistons move when you squeeze the lever and that you can easily push them back into the caliper (after you disconnect the brake line). Then rebuild them if required and reinstall.

SOURCE: 1984 yz 125 power valve how do i set it

You don't have to do anything It does it on its own as long as the pieces are all there. The power valve is the thing that opens up a larger exhaust hole for the two stroke engine. It is shaped like a spool and it twists as pressure builds due to high rpm. On the 1984 it is on the left side of the bike right up front behind the clutch cover.

The engine number can proove what engine type it is but engines can be changed over the years ,your best chance of finding out more info on the bike is to finf the frame number ,this will give you all the history on the bike ,as its very unlikely the frame has been changed since the bike was made.
