On the 98 Evo motor, take the spark plugs out of the heads and then reinsert them into the spark plug wires. Lay the plugs on the head and turn the engine over with the starter. You should see the spark plugs firing.

Good Luck

1998 Pontiac Bonneville SLE will turns over but will not run

I would check to see if the spark plugs are fouled. Or you might have a bad ignition control module (mounted under the coil packs). Auto Zone can test the ignition control module.

1998 Pontiac transport van wont start:

Well you hit all the major ones, could be crank position sensor, ignition module, a bad coil pack (it should have 3), you need to check that you have spark to each plug while the engine is turning over (!!!be careful as this will hurt if you get shocked!!!), this will rule out coil packs. if you have no spark to any plug your looking at a bad ingnition module (which is what the coil packs bolt to). Hope this gets you on the right track!

Engine will not restart after use, will start after 10-25 minutes

Do not take the fuel cap of when trying to start the vehicle this will trigger a trouble code. The no start problem, sounds like the ignition module. Thats the thing that your coils are plugged into. The coils are the things that your plug wires are plugged into up by the fire wall. The ignition module looks like a silver plate about 6-8" long underneath the coil packs, (3 individual coils serving two cylinders each). Anyway have that checked out. Tip;- If you unplug the coils and put dielectric grease at each of the terminals, that might help, it's a first step to fixYa.

My 89 mazda 323 turns over but wont start

Last week my 323 89' Mazda stop working as I was driving it in middle of the street, I pushed to the side. it would not start, the starter sounded ok, but the car just didnt start, I checked the fuses, gas pump, and all seemed to be ok, finally with the help of a friend we found out that the ignition rotor at the distributor wasnt working we then replace it with a new one from autozone , is about 5 dollars, now it works just fine, big problem easy solution.

Start with the battery and make sure u have at least 12.5 volts and good cable connections
1. Are the plugs fouled ?
2.Fuel filter clogged ?
3.Check all the (vacuum) lines for tight connection
4. Sparg plug cables, coil
