Chances are the float is stuck in the closed position. Remove the float bowl at the bottom of the carb and spray the float area with carb cleaner. Gently lift the float and then let it drop a few times. The float needle should break free. When it is free, the gas should should start flowing then stop when the float is lifted and resume when the float is lowered again. Remount the float bowl and go for a ride.

Steelcraft generator 3300 watt Gas tank shut off

The floater of the carburator is bad(Needle). its leaking gas at the carburator and the gas is coming inside the engine at piston intake valves.
Replace carburator needle that stops the intake of gas at the Carburator.

Outboard troubleshooting. I have a 75 hp Mercury with 2 carbuerators. Serial # 6559142 it's around a 1989 model.. Problem= tank bubble pumps up tight...sits for a minute and gets soft...when I pump it up...

Sounds like the fuel pump isn't working, you can buy service kits though quite often corrosion will prevent you from removing the valves.. or it could simply be the fuel cap isn't venting, remove fuel cap and see if the engine continues to run!

18hp ohv cuts out after it gets warm or hot like it is running out of gas

I have a 12.5 hp Briggs & Stratton on a Murray that did that. The carburator is right above the muffler and when I replaced the muffler, I didn't put the heat shield between the muffler and carburator back on. The added heat from the muffler was vaporizing the gas in the carburator where the engine would no longer run once it got hot. Replacing my heat shield and putting a longer pipe on the muffler to get it away from the carburator solved my problem.

Gas shooting out of rubber hose above carburator. craftsman lt200 with kohler engine.

If hose coming off carburator does not connect to anything then it is the over flow for carburator when float gets stuck and does not close needle valve causing excess fuel in carburator bowl and is drained automatically through vent orfice connected to hose that gas is dripping from. If this is the case then remove carburator bowl, check float, needle valve and o-ring in where needle valve goes. sometimes when carburators sit over winter with gas in them the gas breaks down and over time will gel/harden and cause float to hang up and o-ring for needle valve to deteriate and not sealing properly. clean and replace parts as nessesary.
I hope this helped.

Gas flows from cutoff valve to carburator hose connection but does not flow into carburator. What is blocking the flow?

On the top of the carburator there is a needle valve, closed by the float lever.
If the carburator chamber is full with gas, the valve is closed and no more gas can enter the chamber.

If the chamber is empty and no gas flows inside, the valve may be stuck in closed position. Cleaning or some sharp (but not very hard) knoks on chamber cover may help.

Some times the float gets broken and falls down. This is a bigger damage, because it may lead to carburator overflow.

Won't start

you have to performany of these:
1. open the sparkplug & clean it,or you can replace if it is not firing.
2.Clean the carburator, get a compresor or a manual air pump with pin (For ball) and triger directly to the tiny holes inside the carburator.
clean the gas filter becos it already might not flow the gas towards the carburator.

Engine won't turn over

Pull the spark plug back out and try to turn the engine over. If it doesn't move then the engine is probable seized. Was the engine oil res. full of oil and was the color acceptable.
