From the right side of your bike, look for a large hose coming out of the backside of the oil tank at it's lowest point. Follow the hose down behind the transmission on down to a clip on the lower tube of the frame behind the exhaust pipes. There is a metal plug in the hose. Simply take the hose out of the clip and reroute it below the frame. Remove the plug and the oil tank filler cap and the oil will drain out. Refill with three quarts of 20W50 oil.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Hello I have a 1999 Harley Fatboy and I need to

Yes, your '99 Fatboy, has the last of the Evo engines in it. They didn't come out with the Twin Cam 88 B engine until 2000. Still, you have three oil compartments, the engine, the primary, and the transmission.

And yes, you can run the H-D Syn3 oil in all three compartments. The engine holds three quarts, the primary holds about a quart (fill to the bottom of the outer clutch drum), and the transmission uses 20-24 ounces.

I hope this answers your questions.

Testimonial: "Thanks. On the primary, I am assuming that I will be able to see the bottom of the clutch drum with the primary cover off. 1st Harley so excuse -> ???"

SOURCE: picture wiring diagram for 2003 harley fatboy

May I suggest a trip to your local library. Cycle repair books should be in 646 stacks of reference.
Otherwise you can Google for 2003 Clymer Service manuals on the internet.
I think Clymer had electrical diagrams in their books. I doubt that any except the HD service book would have anything about the physical location of the harness, but the pictures in the other books would help you.

2004 Fatboy Oil Tank Change Out

I have an '04 Fatboy and work in a dealership. Swapping the oil tank is not fun! There is very little clearance for tools and your hands! If you decide to try it yourself, get a service manual. It will make the job a little easier, with the steps you need to take to remove the tank. Or, get a service manual and read how to do it and decide if you want to tackle this job yourself.

I have a 1999 fatboy what oil do I use in engine, trans & primary?

On a '99 Fatboy, you can use H-D Syn3 20W50 engine oil in all three locations. But, you can use most any lubricant you wish as long as it meets Harley's specifications. Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobil V-Twin, just check the manufacturer's website for compatibility. On the Evo engines, I use H-D or Mobil V-Twin synthetic 20W50 engine oil. I use nothing but H-D transmission and primary lubricant in those two locations.
