Ok-under the seat is a bent "turn-key" bar that will allow you to tighten the seat but the problem with the turn-key is that at a certain point it gets extremely hard to tighten further--the solution it to use a drive socket that will fit over the nut on the opposite side of the turn-key (we used a size 3/8" drive ratchet handle and a size 3/4" socket) the hubby just held the turn-key bar steady as he tightened with the ratchet or you can use a wrench to hold the bar still---hope this helps
