Pw 50, cleaned air filter,put new plug in,bike starts fine,then feels like choke is on and bogs down,plug is wet ,smells of petrol,,,,no power , tried running to clear through ,sputters then sounds really nice and crisp goes really well but then bogs again...think maybe carb or airscrew needs adjusting? not sure of what compression is hoping not piston rings,,,if it was, would it clear and run finr like it does for period? has a new mikuni carb on it ,fitted by shop,....! tried drilling couple of holes in top of airbox for more air , and has already had restricter washer from exhaust removed. yamaha pw50...

Cover up the drilled holes this can cause problems, why was a new carb fitted? did the shop have it running?
not likely rings .
check carb for flooding and correct jet sizes.
check safety kill\start\run switch for shorts.

My son's KTM 50 senior pro doesn't start. has petrol vapour coming out of the pipe.

The engine is running too rich. The carburator needs tuning to get the fuel mixture correct or the choke may be stuck in a partially closed position.

sounds like it is running too rich i would set the float height to the recommended height and put a new spark plug in it,is it using a standard air filter ?
