I'm getting ready to go look at a 1999 VTR 1000 Super Hawk that has been sitting awhile. I was told that the gas had been treated but the bike had not been cranked in 2 months. I'm taking a battery with me out of my own VTX since I'm sure their battery is dead. My question is where is the air filter and if it is under the tank which is what I'm thinking how do you get it out so I can squirt some starter fluid in carbs if needed. Oh and how do you get to the battery?

For the batterie remove the 2 side panels and the seat air filter you have to lift the tank dont use starting fluid drain the carbs it is always the scew with a flat slot be sure your gas is fresh it should run
