Haha! turbo charger is a unique technology used automobiles. it will add more power, acceleration to your engine. Air fuel is burned inside engine to produce mechanical energy. Oxygen is the main part of burning fuel. if more amount of air, that means more amount of oxygen is supplied fuel will burn perfectly. more air means, there is no change in air fuel ratio. that means compressed air is mixed with fuel. compressed air contains more oxygen. how can we give compressed air? the exhaust air through silencer is diverted to chamber to rotate a turbine. turbine is connected with propeller that gives more air to the air filter. thus engine is turbo charged. only problem is engine is turbo power when propeller runs more 1 lakh rpm. also there is other method called super charger. in this a pulley is directly connected with crank. the pulley is connected with a propeller using a belt. thus propeller gives compressed air into air filter chamber. thanks

I bought a T/3 T4 T3 turbo charger 2.25" 4 bolt exhaust .48at turbo Charger 42ar oil cooled only for an 04 maxima and I'm wondering what accessories am I gonna need piping and intercooler wise and turbo...

Turbo manifold, blow off valve, waste gate, intercooler, turbo timer, piggyback or standalone ECU, most likely an all new exhaust system, new intake, filter. An oil cooler may be needed, as those turbo chargers are most likely cooled and lubricated by the oil in the engine, needing to be piped through the turbo itself.

Elantra 2004(Diesel, done 136,000km) Leak in Turbo Charger

A turbocharger can leak. Some of the gaskets might be shot and need to be replaced or a hose might need to be replaced. If the turbocharger itself is leaking and not a gasket then the turbo housing is probably cracked. If you get the turbocharger replaced it should last a good 20 years or so. The only thing that usually wears out on turbochargers are gaskets and thrust bearings.

My 04 VW Jetta blew thick white smoke from tailpipe after freeway drive. No indicator lights came on, all oil leaked out (after smoke started)... is this engine or could it be just the turbos? Right...

A new turbo charger is about $340, but you can buy the bearings and seals and rebuilt if yourself for about $100

It is not hard, and it does not take long to do.

I normally do not bother with synthetic, but with a turbo charger, it might be worth it. What really seems to ruin turbo chargers the most is not letting them cool off before parking.
Once you turn off the engine, there is no longer any cooling, so the build up heat will burn up the oil and seals.
Run the engine for at least 5 minutes below turbo levels, before shutting down the engine.

Whats the make-up of the r?otating assembly

It all depends on how much pressure you intend to run the turbo or supercharger at. If you won't exceed around 12 psi, you can keep the engine stock without damaging or shortening the engine life too much. If you wanna go bigger than that, you might need to upgrade the pistons and crank. And as for compression, either a charger or turbo will do the same thing as far as the compression is concerned, so if compression is too high for a turbo, it's too high for a charger also. And I'd start checking more for upgrading the fuel system than the engine assembly parts, cause you will need more fuel in the engine to compensate for more air coming in due to turbo or charger way before you need to strengthen the engine for the extra power.

Tdi Turbo Charger

Most likely yes, but you may want to investigate whether a second-hand turbo is a better option price-wise. I don't know what the TDI turbos sell for, but on the gas engines, the stock K03 turbos only go for a couple hundred dollars (or less) used, with no endplay. It may be less hassle to just source a replacement in order to get your car back on the road. You could then have your turbo rebuilt at your leisure and keep it as a spare.
