I recently purchased a chrome Harley Davidson inner primary. I am not sure if it is for my bike. I got it at a swap meet and was told it was part number 60792-06. If that is the case it will fit my bike. I would like to know if there is a way to verify the part number. Inside the cover there are two numbers stamped on it. 60681-06 (paint) and 60757 (chrome) It also has MRC C1 380 stamped on it . I am just trying to find out if this is the part number i was told it is, not having a whole lot of luck.THANKS

Since there are no trustworthy numbers on the inner primary your guess is as good as anyones without seeing the cover. Evidently someone painted the number in the primary. Just take it out to your bike and set is beside your bike. Now start at the very front of the cover on your bike and compare it to the new cover. Slowly and carefully work your way all the way around the cover comparing the postition of the bolt holes and shape of the primary. It should be exactly the same. If it is, more than likely it's the right cover.

Good Luck
Steve

How do you remove a harley davidson dyna starter?

Two bolts on the right hand side of the bike hold the starter body to the inner primary. But you also have to take off the outer primary, and remove the bolt that holds the starter gear onto the starter shaft.

Does anyone know the HD part # for chrome inner primary on a 2009 flhx?

That number won't be in a regular parts manual. If they make one for the bike, you'll find the number in their "accessories" catalog.

I have forward controls now, and want to go back to stock mid controls, where can I find some?

Try a local swap meet. If you go to your local bike shop, look for biker related free magazines. They usually have local swap meets listed. If not, ask the people at the bike shop.

Chanmge from conventional 20W50 oil to synthetic

Not a problem, I've done it on my '94 model Wide Glide. Your bike probably came from the factory with synthetic oil in it. Harley developed their Syn3 20W50 oil and the bikes are shipped with the stuff in all three compartments, the engine, the primary, and the transmission. Just check the manufactures website to make sure whatever oil you decide to use meets Harley's specs.

1982 fxr inner primary what year fit

1982 and 1983 FXR inner primary housings are unique to those two years (rubber mounted motor with 5 speed tranny.) This item seems to be a bit difficult to locate. Can't find any after market inner primaries anywhere that I have looked. Mine has the top front ear broken. I will be having it tigged. If you can save yours - I would.

If you come across one at a swap meet somewhere I would grab it!
