How can I fix my vstar 1100? Turned over for afew seconds then everything died. No power at all. Jeff

Jeff, Make sure battery is good and charged, check all fuses, I believe there will be a 30 amp that could be blown, other then that remove battery connections and clean, check ground connection to frame/engine also, quite common for bikes to have dirty or loose connection and loose all power.
Check the attached links forums, instruction and guides, last link is a good trouble shooting link.Good luck

I have a Yahama,2002 v star 1100 and it eats up batteries, I think the voltage regulater may be faulty, how can I test regulator and also make sure problem is solved?

Place a volt meter across the battery while the engine is running. The voltage should not exceed 14.5 volts at any time, closer to 14 volts is better. If the voltage stays high, even after the battery has been charged for a while, the regulator is not cutting back. Also, check that your battery is not getting hot, a sure sign of over charging. Replace the regulator.

Battery overcharging

Check your regulator/rectifier output is it according to standard.
Is your battery in prime condition as a minimal caopacity battery retention will make the alternator/charger produce a higher output level to quickly charge the battery to optimal state.
