There is no bushing on my rear wheels axle albeit an older scooter...wheel runs metal to metal on the axle and so...remove wheel and clean an grease the axle an replace the wheel.... probably wouldn't hurt to run a greasy rag back and forth through the wheel a time or two too...Sometime next week. The Maintenance Dude here @ Big Muddy River Apartments will be correcting a dry rear wheel on my old ole Golden Companion II. I had just acquired the thing and almost immediately after I sat on it to take it for a spin. The left rear wheel started acting up. Lucky my power chair guy does scooter repair too, and he told me no bearings in the back wheels. Its metal to metal and removing the wheel an greasing the axle should take care of it, and I havt'a say that was really admirable of him cause he could have clipped me for a service call and a grease job.....the end

Knocking noise from rear end

If car is rear wheel drive.....Check you Universal joints on your driveshaft

Could also be Trailing Arm bushings.if you have coil Springs on your rear axle. These bushings keep the axle from rotating. So when you do that Clutch jumpy thing the axle is trying to rotate and with bad bushings it could be 'banging'

2003 Chevy Malibu LS. The problem is an intermittent clunking noise that happens during turns, especially when going in reverse and at slow speeds. There is a single clunk during the turn, and another...

Most likely you have a bad drive axle, each drive axle has 2 universal joints and when they get worn they make a big clunk sound. Especially turning or going from forward to reverse.

Hear a clicking noise when backing up and forward

if you hear that clicking noise whether going forward or backward,,it's most likely a bad cv joint on your axle going bad,,or bad. you'll need to replace the axle it's coming from. just have someone listen to the noise while you're going forward or backwards while turning the wheel in motion to determine which axle is bad! hope this helps!!

When I turn my steering wheel of my 97 wrangler from lock to lock it chings and pops. What do I need to replace to fix it

Sounds like a bad axle end joint or hub bearing going bad. I would also check all steering components for looseness...I mean ALL...bushings, end joints etc. Anything loose or binding can make a noise. I can't see it you can!
Most times axle joints and bearings need to be removed to physically inspect them. any binding or roughness means they are bad.

My 96 has a small clunck when i start going forward or reverse. how can i fix this?

sounds like you have a cv joint going out and ready to leave you stranded . get it checked . new axle /150$ fix labour extra unless you do yourself , dont quote my price . if it's your transmission it will be alot higher but start at the cv joints for clunk's. you also have hubs in the front that click / bad bearing clicking noises dont really sound like clunk noises. clunks come from the axles .

My 2004 clunks when i put slight (30%)throttle going up hill an it clunks in to gear checked ujoints and changed transfer case still there

Sounds odd...Check the driveline for excessive movement and watch carefully when it's going into and out of gear. If you see any excessive movement in the differential yoke, likely there is a lot of gear lash inside. Also make sure all differential mounts are secure and that no bushings are worn. Likely if you are looking at them and someone puts it into gear, you will see a shift there if they are worn or loose. With difficult noises, I often use a long pipe, bar etc and actually place it against different olcations to narrow down the noise source.
Noise while loaded is different and can come from a bad internal shaft bushing in the transmission, a cracked flywheel or possibly a bad main or rod bearing.
Since you removed the transfer case, I'll assume you checked the universal joints for binding and excess play so that should be a non-issue. I'd also check front axle joints as well just to make sure there is nothing going on up there (sounds often travel, which is why looking is better than listening)

Clunking sound from front wheels, suspension on Hyundai Atos

It sounds like the CV joints are due to be replaced. Make sure you get them replaced and do not drive it too far, because the CV joints will fail anytime now. Once the CV joints fail, your going to have to get the car towed to get it fixed. Good luck and keep me posted, Oh and don't buy the car from there, who knows what else is wrong with the car that they are hiding from you.
