I didn't see the cig lighter mentioned in my online resource, but with my experience on GM vehicles, the under dash driver's side fuse box usually has a cig lighter fuse listed. If not, then you'll have to get a fuse tester and test each and every fuse until you find the burnt out one.
If the fuse is not burnt out, there may be a broken wire behind the console.
Console
Removal & Installation
Chevrolet Lumina & Monte Carlo
To Remove:
- Disconnect the negative battery cable after first disabling the Theftlock® feature of the radio, if equipped.
- Remove the front floor console trim plate using the following procedure:
- Remove the cigarette lighter.
- Remove the transaxle shift handle.
- Remove the front floor console trim plate by unsnapping from the console.
- Detach the automatic transaxle control indicator socket and bulb from the trim plate and detach the electrical connector from the trim plate.
Console mounting (Chevrolet models shown)
- Remove the CD storage bin at the front of the console by unsnapping it.
- Raise the console armrest and remove the compartment mat. Remove the screws from console.
- Detach the electrical connectors and remove the front floor console from the vehicle.
To Install:
- Connect the electrical connectors and position the console on the floor.
- Install the screws and the compartment mat. Start with the front right console retaining screws and continue in a clockwise order.
- Tighten the screws to 106 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
- Install the CD storage bin.
- Install the console trim plate.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
