Hello,
The speedometer sensor is located in the countershaft sprocket cover. This is the cover at the lower left rear of the engine. If you are having speedometer problems, be sure and check the speedometer rotor that is on the end of the countershaft. They have come loose and caused problems.

My speedo is not working on my gsxr srad 1998

this is the drive on your model, sits behind the front sprecket cover, could be thepick up that bolts in with a small allan bolt from the outside, or the allan bolt has come loose behind that cover.
see this on ebay, check all other things first.

05 GSXR 750 Speedometer Reads 0

I just had the same problem 2004 gsxr 750. After massive troubleshooting and time I found out it was the gauge. So I then ebayed a gauge on ebay and bought on for 290 dollars. Speedo now works. I am just off on the actual speed, need to by a speedo healer.

WHEN MY GSXR 750 SRAD GET TO 215 DEGREES IT BEGINS TO HESITATE IN FIRST GEAR.

Hi Datprboi1

I think you may have an electrical problem connected to the radiator cooling fan as 215 F is about the temperature that this will start so as to cool the engine. So it may possibly be the fan motor or the sensor switch. Good Luck

1998 gsxr 750 speedo problem

if the speedo doesn't work through a cable then it probably works on a electronic sensor.try and trace the wire from the back of the speedo to the sensor and replace the sensor.will more than likely be around the front wheel area or the gearbox.

My 1996 750 gsxr speedo is intermitent,

I believe the mid 90's speedo cables have a male flat cable end that fits into a female groove in the transmission and at the other end a hexagonal male that fits into the guage...more than likely one of the cable ends is stripped out, but not all the way...for a simple check you should detach the cable and check both ends...for an easy fix a new cable should run about $18-$24
