Sounds like a new coil pack is needed. might be expensive try a breakers or on-line. if it has contact points try replacing the condenser as these are relativrly cheap

Check for a short, or partially broken wire between CDI and coil. If your wiring is goodbetween there, check between CDI and pick up.

SOURCE: suzuki gn125 wont start. checked carb, cdi, coil.

Check the valve adjustment. If a valve is standing open just a little, the compression will be too low to start the engine. Check fuel delivery by dribbling a little gasoline into the carb and try starting the bike. If it starts and runs for a second or two, you're not getting fuel into the cylinders. Check you carb again.

Ihave 1982 suzuki GS1100 not getting any spark to spark plugs

check the coils to see if there is any spark from there,if not start going backwards to the spark rectifires,the points or cdi (which ever you have)
if they are all working check the wires , lots of places to look just start at the pulgs and work your way back, don't forget to check all the grounds

1982 GS850 Missing and Hesitation

fuel flow to cold pipe cylinder may be stopped with trash or sticky float.Resistor in plug wire for the one not firing could be bad. Try changing coil from one that is firing to the one thats not,see if that pipe gets hot or does the same thing still happen. coil ,plug wire, or fuel would be my primary focus.

1982 suzuki gs650 runs, but not over 300rpm

better check for the ignition coil for proper sparking or igniting of current in the comprssion chamber, check the ignition coil spark plug wire, check the spark plug, check for proper fuel supply in the flow system to Carbs, check for Ignition timing of the bike, or still you cant solve or still worried then dont worry better take the bike to nearest aurhorised Suzuki service centre for better assistance on this problem surely the problem will be solved.

Wont start

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Your described problem based on the bike being a 1982 model could be varied, among them are:
  • weak spark - not necessarily weak battery. Culprits could be loose loose connector to the CDI, low IGN +12 to the + terminal of the coil (check with a voltmeter while just switch on and when cranking/starting), or even a loose ground terminal. Check spark by removing plugs, reconnect the plugwires, let the threaded end touch metal part of engine, crank. Sparks should be strong;
  • corroded/poor contacts in the ignition switch resulting to the above. You can test by running a jumper wire straight from the battery to the + terminals of the ignition coil;
  • too lean air/fuel - plugs should be brownish in color;
  • air or vacuum leak - resulting to the above and high or poor idling;
  • unbalanced carbs - carb check/clean, verify air adjustment screw number of turns,
  • compression low - have a compression check.
Would look forward to your updates. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
