Your clutch is grabbing, adjust the cable so that it pulls harder on the clutch. If this does not help you may need to take the cluth out and inspect it for bad springs or damage

2002 yz 125 when I put it in gear it will shut off acts like the clutch is not working when I adjust it on the handle bars it slips

Mechanical issue: clutch not disengaging completely...
engine off - put in gear and roll back and forth with clutch released does engine stop the bike from rolling? Now pull clutch lever in and try rolling again is clutch cable adjusted properly?
Electrical issue: bike thinks clutch is still engaged and kills motor when not in neutral
Is the clutch switch properly connected and working? Is it adjusted properly? Use a multimeter to read resistance across switch contacts does it change state when clutch is pulled in?

Yamaha Pw80 clutch

The PW80 does not have a manual hand lever clutch, its a 3 speed semi auto. The bike will jerk and shut off when put in gear. If I put it in gear while rolling then it will work. Any ideas?

Hi there what it is my kick start has gone stiff and jammes what could it be the bikes a yz250

A shft is broke or bent bad or a bearing got real hot and welded itself to the shaft. If you can roll down a hill and put it in gear and jump it off its one of the two prior problems. it it want start the motor might be seized up.

1987 yz125 clutch not working!

If you can see the actuator moving, but not disengaging the clutch, it usually means that the clutches are hanging up in the basket, or the actuator is bad and not releasing the clutches. The only way to tell is to take off the clutch cover and watch what happens when you pull the clutch.
