going to sound off the wall but.... take out the computer and look for a lose connector on the computer itself. you will need to unplug it, if this is the same prob I ran into before and check each connection. we had to replace the terminal. Let me know [email protected]
I would expect on an engine like that the engine cut out is set for around 6000 rpm so that you cannot cause any accidental damage by over revving it. Why do you want to rev it past 6000 rpm???
If you are running ANY engine to 6000 rpm in first gear, you are thrashing the hell out of it and that is a problem/catastrophe waiting to happen. Stop hammering the engine and shift out of first at around 2000 rpm at the most. You might spin the crankshaft bearings or over torque the crankshaft - that is if you don't break the connecting rod and throw the piston into the valves and destroy the cylinder head. 6000 RPM! That is just crazy.
