How to change rear brake pads
I didn't have a "cube tool", used a pair of channel locks. Worked great. Thanks.
You'll have to remove the bolts holding the caliper to the caliper bracket. Use a large C clamp to compress the piston back into the caliper. Be absolutely sure that the bleeder valve is open when you compress the caliper.install the new pads and re-assemble in reverse as you removed everything. After you've done both sides and the bleeder valve is closed. Go in car and slowly pump up the brakes until you feel brake pressure back in the pedal. Start and put in reverse and back up slowly and press the brake pedal and you'll feel the pedal get better and better.
Actually, you need a "cube tool" and need to twist the caliper/piston head clockwise in order to compress it. A C-clamp will not work.

A "C" Clamp CANNOT be used on the rear brakes of a 2005 Malibu ! Trust me !! I have Grinding in the rear wheels after changing the rear brakes.
