Hi.

Standard tires are already oversized in 03 model. This are the maximum standard allowed, probably the same as what you already have:
Front - D402F MH90-21 54H
Rear - D401 150/80B16 71H
(front: 80/90 - rear :150/80-it was 130 in 02 model)

Without modification you cannot use any bigger tire. By changing wheel, belt and pulley, you can mount at rear up to 200 at rear (see job done on the 06 softail here).

At front you need to replace wheel and to move the fender. The result is not always great when you do modification to front wheel. The best thing to do is buying a spacer kit.

Regards

Ginko.

2001 Vulcan 1500 Classic E. Can I put a wider back tire on and if I can how wide can I go?

talk this over with a bike shop that sells rims and tires
there are several things to consider
ride characteristics change dramatically with different tire widths
legal ramifications of different front and rear tires
real advantages of wider tires as against "looks cool"
costs of new rim and wider tire against standard tires
modification plates for the wider tire
Talk it over with an accredited bike shop and find a person that has real experience and not just a salesman

What are the standard wheel sizes of a 2009 FXST

Harley did not make a FXST in 2009 so I am assuming you need the tire and rim sizes for the 2003. The tire sizes are front 80/90-19 or a MH90-21 depending on rim size and rear is 150/80B-16 71H. I hope this answered your question.

Will a larger rear tire on my 2003 road king fit.any modifacations required.

About the largest you want to go without any modifications...and it can be a tight squeeze is a 140/ or a MU- . You can purchase for upto a couple of grand after market wide tire kits to run like a 180. I may be wrong but I do not think Harley offers a Wide Tire Installation Kit
for your bike any longer. hope this helps,

Replacing tires need procedure and torque on a 2004 softail

You will pretty much need a tire machine to remove the old tires and put on fresh ones. Torque depends on the model of your bike.

Most front axle nuts are torqued to 65 foot pounds. The same applies to the rear wheel on most models except touring (FLH series) which usually are torqued to 105 foot pounds.
