SOURCE: using the auxillary setting

You'll need to turn the auxiliary function on in the setup menu. Press Source to put the unit in Standby, then press and hold the Menu button for at least 1 second. Press the control switch toward AM or FM until the AUX setting comes up, then press the control switch toward <<< or >>> to change the setting to ON. CAR RDIO MP3/CD. ALPINE 9852. SECOND HAND CAR HAS RADIO RECEIVER AND PROVISION AND JACK FOR ATTACHMENT. NO MANUAL. WHERE CAN I OBTAIN A MANUAL AND WHAT DO I NEED TO PLAY DISCS AND MP3?. REGARDS GEOFF PEACH

go to alpine website and you can pull up a manual from the archives and print it out. Umm as far as playing disks you just flip the face down and load a disk into it and it will play it . you will probably have to have an mp3 cord plugged into it to access the "auxillary" mode under the sources button. But other than that yea just hit the source button and it should switch between tuner cd and aux to play whatever you need it to play

Aux input. Kenwood ecelon dpx-701

You have to go into the menu and turn it back on. It is in the menu under "built in aux" and just switch it to on.

No CD

Hi,

The normal source selections for this model when the SRC button is pressed are: TUNER, CD and STANDBY.

If there is no CD inside the tray, or if it is dirty, unreadable, inverted or damaged, then the CD source option will not display at all.

If the there is a known good CD placed properly inside the tray and the CD source will still not show as a source selection, you may need to RESET the unit. The reset button is near mid bottom. This will also erase all settings, memory and tuner presets.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Try putting the unit in standby via the "SRC" button FIRST..., then press the menu button and cycle through to the "AUX 1" option and activate this....then press menu button again. When the unit is next switched on, you should have an "AUX" option accessible via the "SRC" button which will cycle through all of the availale modes ....standby-tuner-cd-aux etc etc.

Cannot select different sources

There is an easy solution for this, put a cd into the stereo and then go through your sources, it will now show standby, tuner, cd.
