1993 dodge ram 250 - bad gas

1993 dodge ram 250 - I went to a gas station that had bad gas. The gas was mixed with water. My van cut off and wouldn't start. I drained the gas out and put in some new gas. Then i started it and it didn't start it just keept making sounds like it was trying to start but couldn't. Then i took it apart and added some starting fluid and it started then shut down like five minutes later. Then when it was shutting down it started puttin. then i added two bottles of dry gas and one bottle of heet. it started and then shut down again .How do i make it start and stay started

I hope you drained the ENTIRE fuel system because the feed lines from your tank and the carb float bowl will have contaminated gas as well

yes removed tank and drained completly ps the petrol used was contaminated by water not diesel

fuel pump primes bot does show fuel at the rail nor at the joins

Blue smoke is oil burning, rings worn or valve seals.

Sounds like you got a tank of bad gas. That would easily cause your issues. Start by draining as much as you can, put a can of Seafoam in there, add a few gallons of fresh gas, drive to the gas station and tank up, and run that tank down until your gas light comes on before adding more. You may end up needing a fuel filter or plugs again, but with minimal run time on the bad gas, you'll probably be fine.

one thing to look for is your gas gauge. if it doesnt read or your wagon constantly stops then i would go with the fuel pump. replace the pump and replace the fuel line any water in that line would be bad.

need to narrow the field a little,1st check battery connections,turn headlights on @ turn key to start, if lights dim,,starter drawing amps,could be bad starter, is fuel pump humming when key on? if not check fuses under hood for fuel pump relay if ticks when key turned on it's good. it's either a spark or fuel issue, hope this helps!!

Volt meter in van shows voltage dropping when van is in gear. In park it idels fine. It wants to act lick it is backfiring and cuts off. We have had the alternator checked and it is fine the computer box...

sounds like your altinator is failing, a diode has failed

My blower motor for heater does not work, all fuses are good in fuse block, is there a inline fuse or relay or something that could have went bad. this is for a ram 250 van 6 cyl. 1993

probably the blower needs to be replaced, by the age of the vehicle i would think the motor is worn out.remove it and test.the only fuse is in the fuse block. the next possibility is the controls on your climate control console.

Use fuel line/injector cleaner this is a common problem. Also try higher octane gas for a tank or 2 and get her ou on the highway and blow he cobwebs outta he fuel system and exhaust
