FI stands for Fuel Injection. The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. It could be anything > a dirty air filter restricting airflow, a plugged injector, an error in fuel mapping, any number of things. Serious problems can trigger the computer to prevent starting until the problem is fixed. You will need to take the bike to a dealer to have them plug in a code reader. The code reader will tell you exactly what the problem is. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

My Kawasaki zx6r 2009 keeps displaying f1 and with a flashing red light. The bike runs fine. Sometimes shuts off while warming up. how do I fix it?

it actually means fault indicator and doesn't deal solely with the fuel injection.

put the key in the ignition and turn it on, but don't start the bike. use the mode button to go to the odometer display, then hold the mode button down for 2 seconds. the code should be displayed.

come back when you have the code

My gateway is stuck in configure 3 of 3 at start up

Turn on your computer. If your computer is already on, then reboot it. You need to see the initial display screen to get into the BIOS. Press the F1 key immediately in one second intervals when you see the initial screen displaying the BIOS provider information. The majority of Gateway computers use the F1 key. If, for some reason this does not work, then use the F2. All of Gateway's desktops use the F1 or F2 keys. this will vary depending on your computer and operating system Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart. Hope this helps.

How do I reset the "Oil Life"readout on my 2006 EX-L? The oil was just changed and it still displays the old percentage.

On the left of your dash is a pair of buttons, one for selecting/changing the odometer and the other for cycling from MPH to KMH and back.

Turn the key on.

Push the select button until your display indicated the remaining oil life percentage. When it is displayed press and HOLD the select button until it begins to flash. Once it starts flashing release the button and press and hold it again. The display will clear and if you release the button and cycle through the display with the select button you will see oil life 100%.
