Drain all fluids first..then chain .then remove gas tank then rent a engine hoist and wrap chain around frame main structure near front of bike take off exhaust pipes and then get a car hydraulic jack stand and a small rectangular piece of wood and slip it underneath the engine to relieve pressure on the main engine mounts, pull out bolts, raise engine hoist a little then drop the car jack oh i forgot remove all your throttle, clutch cable first and fuel main line.

SOURCE: How do you set the timing on a 1995 kawasaki zx6?

Timing chain replacement is a bit complex for a beginner. I don't recommend it. However, I would suggest the best way is to have a service manual at hand. Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual.www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp
The list of manuals may take 10 to 15 seconds to come up. The 2005 manual (4th from the bottom), is 11MB.

Also, go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part and/or the notation "Not Available" is in the description, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx

Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?

Kawasaki ZZR600. Does anyone know the correct torque settings for the clutch spring bolts? thanks, Greg

Just got off the phone with my service manager at my local Kawasaki dealership. "She" looked up the torque wrench setting for the clutch spring bolts. Its the same as a 2000-2002 ZX6R and 2005-2006 ZZR600.
Torque- Clutch Spring Bolts: 8.8 N-m (0.90 kgf-m, 78 in-lb)

Whats the firing order for a 1990 Kawasaki 600 zx ninja.

The ZX6, as with most four-cylinder motorcycle engines, is mounted transversely in the frame. When sitting on the bike, the cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 left to right.

Firing Order: the firing order is 1-2-4-3. There is no distributor for the engine, as ignition is controlled electronically.

Extra Ignition Information: there are only two ignition coils for this engine. Each coil has two spark plug wires. One coil fires cylinders 1 and 4. The other fires cylinders 2 and 3

How many times should i turn the fuel to air screw out on a 1999 zx6. i have it out 2 and a half turns is that the best?

Standard is 1 & 1/2 turns out- Using a infra red Gas analyser, I found they would run the best between 2 & 2 & 1/2 turns out.try to search for the setting with the smoothest idle. So yes- you seem to have it set correctly.

What engine will fit in a 1986 ninja?

Get a different engine just like the one you had. Google " motorcycle salvage Kawasaki " and you can probably find the engine you need there. The best thing is now you have a whole lot of spare parts > the old engine.
