Just by looking at the vin number won't tell you the year of your bike. You need to write the vin number down and get on the phone with a dealer that operates your type of motorcycle manufacture. Tell them the vin number and then they can tell you what year it is.

Go to carfaxDOTcom and enter the vin number in Start Your Search box and it will tell you what year car the vin belongs to.

you cannot tell from chassis number. please supply the vin# and i can tell you - specifically the tenth digit.

on the steering stem is where the vin number is and to find the year its the 10th digit will be a number because its a fairly new model and that digit will tell you what year it is

The engine number will not give you what you need. The VIN is the key. You will find the VIN number stamped into the center steering stem that the forks attach to. Call a Yamaha dealer with the VIN and they can tell you what year and model of bike you have.
