I have found on these bikes that if the battery is not strong enough it does not crank the engine fast enough to start easily. Especially like it sounds like you are concerned about the charging.Maybee jump start the bike with a strong battery of a car or powerpack and see if this still happens. Beware when jump starting not to short the leads you could blow your CDI.

Bike wont charge 92 750

According to information I have found this model uses what is called a Stator to keep the battery charged. If you aren't knowledgeable about Stators, check this video out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWU2TbEePsY&feature=related

Is there a charging problem with the 96 Vulcan 750? I bought the bike and ever since I have had a hard time getting it to charge while driving. Is there some problem that is endemic to this bike? Bob

Sounds like u have a open cell in your battery , replace it , you said you had issues charging not lighting or running so this answer is based on the assumption there's voltage coming from stator is this accurate?

What's involved in replacing the stator on a 93 Vulcan 750?

Not a big deal. Just remove the left engine cover and you will find the stator bolted to it. Remove the three bolts holding the stator and the stator will then be free to come apart from the cover.

What do i need to remove, and how to replace a stator on a 1996 v7

The stator comes off with the right front side cover If I recall correctly. All you need is a set of metric wrenches.

Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?

Stator

Behind the left engine cover. The engine must be almost completely removed to change it out.
