Yes, the key cutting code could be on the trunk lock cylinder. Some automakers imprint the key code directly onto the lock cylinder or on a small metal tag that is affixed to the cylinder. This is not always the case, as the placement of the key code can vary based on the vehicle's make and model.
Consult a professional locksmith or automobile dealer if you need to duplicate or replace a key. They can assist you identify the key code and give you with a new key that is correctly cut and programmed (if necessary).
Unfortunately you won't get that information here. Change your Auto Locksmith or head to the dealership. All new cars have three keys, you replace as soon as you get to one left.
Locksmiths normally have paid access to that information. The code tells them the settings for the key cutting machine.
I have the same problem, i went into the local bike store and was told that if you pull the key barrel out you can take it to any locksmith and have a new one cut. The only problem is I can't find out how to get the barrel out...
If you have lost the keys you only have two options. The ignition switch is the most detailed switch and will need to be replaced or have another key cut to work. I have removed the switch and taken to a locksmith with good results. The other option is to have locksmith come to the bike. the results would depend on your locksmith. When the bike was purchased new it had a tag with the keys that had a numerical code. If you have that code the dealer should be able to cut a key for it.
Remember that the key opens the ignition, fuel tank and the seat. If you can not get another key made, you will have to replace all three locks.

You could have the dealership install the 103 CI kit if you like but no it didnt come from the factory with that engine in it already, only the CVO bikes such as the FLHRSE and FLHRSEI came with the 103 CI motor installed from the factory.
Hi,
The problem you are having has nothing to do with your lock. Modern key cutting machines are so automated that they do a very poor job in key duplication. I suggest that you find an old hardware store that has an older key machine. Or possibly, it might be cheaper to simply replace the lock set. A new Kwikset keyed entry sells for about $40.00 for a lever handle. Remember to have extra keys cut at the store when you purchase the lock...so you can check the duplicates in the store. I do this at Home Depot regularly. They have a new machine, but with the lock right there, they can manage to cut some duplicates after a few bad ones.
I typed out a Real Long dissertation of how to do this step by step, and all of my tricks. Forgot what the primary oil amount is to refill, don't have access to my manuals. (Gloomy day for an old biker)
Went to find this info, and there's an old Harley mechanic, (Kinda' looks like me!), that has a step by step Video of how to do an oil change on a Road King!
Here it is, http://www.expertvillage.com/video/164136_do-oil-change-harley-davidson.htm
