Question about 2005 Honda Silverwing 600
How much should the 8,000 mile service on a 2005 Honda Silver Wing cost assuming no problems - just the usual inspections and any minor adjustments? I am asking because my 8,000 mile service cost me $493 and I wonder if I got ripped off. I just hit 16,000 and the V-matic indicator light came on and the manual says I should replace the drive belt at 16,000! How much is that going to cost? Should standard maintenance on this 2-cylinder scooter cost more than service for a Gold Wing?
Hi I am Vortash common fault with this model bike was the ignition switch a quick test is put a meter across the the battery .. you should read 12 -13volts if the voltage drops when the ignition is switched it's usually is ok but not allways it is just a quick check sometimes it is intermittent now see how far the voltage drops if it is considerable chances are you have a short .. usually the rectifier or the starter feel the battery see if it is getting warm with the ignition on this will also indicate a short .. check for bad earth connections particarly from the battery to the frame.. Check all fuses in this country there was one on the main lead from the battery .. hope this helps regards Vortash
