The battery light being on is not normal, this could be what is causing the clunking noises, whenever my battery light comes on i try and race home as fast as i can so i wont be stranded, because i know im running on pure battery power and it will only run for another 15 miles before she dies completely. Before she dies the car is making all kind of noises, clunking backfiring., so your alternator is probably going bad or your serpentine belt is very loose.

2006 Hyundai Elantra clutch pedal stays down and car will not start

The clutch being on the floor says the slave cylender, or pilot bearing for the clutch is faulty. The vehicle should still start if you put it in neutral, it just can't be driven. Unsure about the windows.

Tapping Noise that does not slow with engine RPM ?

Your correct, It isn't the engine. I would start with the brakes, maybe wheel bearings, Axles. If front wheel drive, Lift the front tires off the ground and run it. If the noise goes away, look towards the back. Check the front bearings with the tires off the ground. Grab top and bottom, Wiggle the tire. Any movement the bearing is bad.

Car wont start

sounds like the timing belt has gone would not keep trying to start engine if this is the case and it will cost you more to fix. it may have striped a cog on the belt or the adjuster has given up the goat. clicking and clunk is a most common sound of the belt going. if you have to have the belt changed and the engine runs and is ticking then the valves are bent and you will need to have the head changed or the valves replaced, as over time the valve can snap and then the engine is a gonner.

Noise after changing alternator on Ford Taurus 2003 DOHC

Wow sometimes after doing an alternator job sometimes people can accidentally leave tools in the engine compartment so when they drive around I hear a clunking noise you may want to check that first secondly you want to make sure that your alternator was both down to the proper torque specification it's an engine block so I'm just going to say 75 foot pounds did you have the ability to volte it incorrectly or was it voted in as good as you possibly could do it there's a huge difference if you don't bolt it down correctly and it's too loose you're going to hear a hell of a lot with a loose alternator

Hi, when i'm coming off the third and the second gear mainly the 2nd gear it makes a clanking noise

My first thought here is your drive shaft u joints, but only because I've been stranded more than once by these. The higher torque of second will definitely make a worn u-joint "clunk". with the window down listen carefully as you engage and release your clutch in 1st gear, if you here any "clunking" noise I would check your u-joints. To do this SAFELY;ie, using jack stand etc. get under your car and try to turn the drive shaft by hand with the car in gear. ANY play in the drive shaft is bad. I'm not sure if you meant you've changed your clutch and the pressure plate or you did change out you flywheel. either way whichever you did not change could definitely be warped.

Ticking noise underneath the car approximately midway.

The sound you hear is the metal parts of your exhaust system and catalytic converter cooling down. Some cars are louder than others but the sound is perfectly normal.
