Yamaha 1980 MX 80 Front Fork Disassembly?

Start off by removing the forks from the bike, then remove the top caps (bolts) from the forks. Once removed take out the spacer and fork springs from the forks. Tip them upside down to get the fork oil out. Now with the forks empty from fluid and springs you will compress the forks all the way to make them as short as possible. You will need a fork dampening tool or a air gun to split the forks by removing the bolt inside the fork tubes. Once this is achieved you can pull the forks apart and replace the fork seals. When putting fork oil back into the forks if you are not sure how much to put back in, just compress the forks all the way down and fill each leg 6 inches from the top. That amount works for just about any motorcycle with conventional forks. Use 10 w fork oil.

How to get fork caps off 1993xr250r to change oil

Be careful with them they are under pressure from the springs make sure to lift the front off the ground, or remove forks from the bike. If the forms are upside down type when you open the top nut the outer leg should slide down allowing access to oil.

How do I putt fork oil in my 88 1100f susuki

Hi

Remove the front axle, the wheel and undo the clamps holding the forks, there are two sets usually held on my allen key bolts.

Slide the forks out of the tubes and empty the fork oil into a container. Refill (usually 8oz but check manual) with the correct grade of oil and slide the fork legs back into the tubes. Tighten the clamps and refit wheel and axle. Test the forks first by pushing down on them.

Hope this helps, please vote for me.

I have an FZR1000exup 1994 with upside down forks how much oil does each fork require

With each fork, without spring inside, pushed all the way in hold it upright and put oil SAE 10W (stock setting) up to 12mm from the edge (where the top bolts on).It should be something less that 500ml.If you wish more slow reaction from your fork (since it is a heavy motorcycle) I would recommend SAE 15.So 1 liter should cover you for both forks.

What are the stock suspension settings for a 2003 Honda CR 250 R?

set your compression out 10 or 11 your rebound 9 or 10 and your fork oil height to roughtly 380cc.since its in 03 u should drain the fork oil out, u have to unscrew the top cap of the fork while its in the triple clamps( because its easier this way), loosen then take the fork out of the clamps, unscrew the top caps and pull the fork tube down and turn the fork upside down to drain the oil out then hang the forks up upside down for about 15 minutes then add the new oil right in the fork tube were you'll see a spring, just add the oil in there and you'll be fine and u should replace it with a good medium weight oil

Gsxr forks

The oil can be drained removing the NEAS system valves ( 2 allen bolts ).
System contains 456 cc ( 15.4oz.) oil in each leg.
the oil-level measured from the top of the COMPRESSED leg is 107mm.
To measure:
- have an oil-suction pump
- Make a tube with a stopper at 130mmfrom the end.
Drill a little hole ( 3mm ) at 107mm (4.21in) of the stopper.

More oil will tighten the suspension, less will soften it a bit.
Oil type: SAE15

Hope this helps
