The fuel mixture valve on the carb.is out of adjustment or fouled with laquer. first thing is get a pint of carb cleaner and pour it into a full tank of gas and take your bike for a long ride couple hours at least.. but adjust the valve on the carb first. turn the screw in till real snug, then turn back out exactly 1 and a half turns. doing this will help remove any laquer deposits on the tip of the needle valve that restricts fuel flow and the correct fuel/air mixture. hope this helps you out, and let me know how you do.

1989 150 econoline starts good but has to warm up or will stall runs good after warmed up

Sounds like my old 77 F250. If the Van has a carburator then your carb's choke is not working properly. Suggest installing hand choke to your carburator. Then you can control your carbs choke by hand.

My 4 year old Craftsman 10.0 HP Genter OHV 5600 Watt 8600 Surge Power generator starts and runs good in the choke position, however when you try to take it from choke to run, it dies. Will it do any damage...

Not that i am aware of, however, I suspect that as soon as you load it up it will die again as the load will call for greater speed, and too much fuel from the choke position will cause it to die again.

What I suspect is that your carburator is clogged up at the jets and is not metering the air fuel mxture properly. You may have to disassemble the carburator and clean it. Since the government has mandated that gasoline contain 10% alcohol, it has become a night mare for small engines that are not used very often. The alcohol is very hydroscopic (retains water) and during the off use period, the alcohol evaporates and leaves the water behind to mix with gunk and clog the needle valves.

Try removing the old gasoline. Refill the machine with fresh gasoline and add some "SeaFoam" (an additive) or any other brand additive that will help disolve the built up gunk in the carburator. Remove the air cleaner and try spraying a carburator cleaner down in the air intake while the machine is running, this way the air passages may clear while the new gasoline may dislodge the built up gunk. Note: The carb cleaner will stall the engine.

It is probably wise to run the gas tank dry before storage and only fill when the machine will be used. Stabil is an additive for storage, and it did it's job before the alcohol edict. I am not sure that Stabil will allow long time storage. (more than 3 months) SeaFoam can be purchased at WalMart, stabil is on the shelf of most small engine sales rooms such as Sears.

Even after warm up with choke on it has hesitation on acceleration my 1993 honda 750 ,if i leave the choke lever at about 1/4 on it makes it a little more ridable . it ideiles fine

Usually if it runs better with the choke on that is a sign that the fuel mixture is too lean. When you engage the choke, it allows less air into the fuel mixure correcting the fuel mixture. If you have made no changes to the intake or exhaust system chances are your carburators are gunked up a little and not letting enough fuel through.

Ryobi trimmer stalls when we move from full choke to Half choke or Run. Tried cleaning the air filter, changed the spark plug.

Try cleaning any carbon build-up at the screen on the exhaust port. I use carburator cleaner, a small wire brush, and a small screwdriver. Carbon buildup at that area can cause this type problem. I would clean the carburator as well. Hope this helped and best wishes.
