After heating up.. I would check for spark on that cylinder when it is warm... could be a coil going bad.
Just a thought...

I think that model has 2 plugs per cylinder. It shouldn't be the coil, then, right?

Seen this exact same issue.. the float inlet is likely sticking on one carb. the bike starts and runs on the fuel in the float bowl..then starves. I ran a few tanks of fuel with SEAFOAM additive.. solved my issue. I was able to free up the float inlet sometimes by rapping on the carb..or it would clear by itself. Check next time it runs.. is it just warming up?. or running just long enough to run the float bowls dry?. Maybe on 2 fresh starts- let it idle and time the point the cylinder drops out. If its the same time.. -It likely confirms

Sync the carbs especially if you have a custom pipes, in that case, the front cyl. is not getting enough fuel and is overheating.

I need the location of oxygen 2 sensor on 96 Maxima

bank 1 refers to the side of the engine. on a four cylinder there will onlyu be a bank one. a v-6 will have a bank 1 and a bank 2. Bank 1 will be on the same side of the engine as cylinder number one. Bank 2 will be the opposite side. Sensor 1 is always before the catalytic converter. Sensor 2 is always after the catalytic converter.

So , for example, if your looking for Bank1 Sensor2 it will be in the exhaust pipe after the cat on the same side as the number one cylinder.

1993 honda shadow 1100 leaking engine oil from slave cylinder

Small O-ring, if that is engine oil, if it is brake fluid oil, you have bad slave cyl. gasket.
The O-ring is difficult to change, the clutch shaft is going through it from slave cyl. to clutch. You can try change it from left side, but I think easier from right, but you have to take off right engine cover and complete clutch, then slave cyl., pushing it out from left to right site thru a rod hole.

'86 honda accord 4 cyl...runs very rough as though missing on 1 cyl ...when removing plug wires 1 at a time each 1 removed makes engine run worse except for #1 cyl which when removed smooths engine out...

no, the plug is firing. But the timing is off. the plug is firing quite a bit before top dead center on that cylinder. The burning of the fuel mixture is occurring while that piston is on its way up and is slowing it down---dragging down the whole engine. i think you should change the distributor cap and rotor as cylinder one is firing at the same time as cylinder 2or 4. This indicates a possible carbon track in the distributor cap.

83 shadow starts on one cylinder

you may want to go and have your coils looked at. the first thing you should do though is pull the plugs and see what shape they are in. the plugs will tell you everything about your engine and what it is doing and when. if your plugs are good then go have your coils inspected. do not try this yourself if you do not know what you are doing. there is a very high chance of very high electrical discharge to you. it may even kill you if it hits right.

I have a 96 shadow 600 vlx , it sat for 3 yrs, i got new batt , plug and cleaned carb out, it runs, but pop and sputers

ok buddy on carb is a mixture screw turn this in 1/4 of a turn this is reducing the amount off fuel going to the cylinder if it pops this is too much fuel going in do screw it in until it runs smooth 01a8e82.jpg

TIMING PROBLEM

I dont think that u have a timing probing but just to be sure I would recheck the timing, (remove timing belt cover, set crank to zero and make sure both cams line up with the marks on the engine) if thats all good the u have a prob with that particular cylinder. first thing I would do is swap the coil pack from cyl 3 with another cylinder (like cyl 1) then start the car if the misfire code goes from P0303 (Cyl 3) to P0301 (Cyl 1) then u know u have a bad coil pack. try that and let me know what happens

Found TDC but rotor not on Cylinder #1?

when you bring the piston to TDC on the compression stroke
slide the distributor in and point the rotor towards the number one cylinder once you get it all back together but dont tighten the distributor down tight because you still have to adjust timing

Sounds like you have some EGR ports clogged up, remove the intake and look at the egr ports all but
#1 cyl port will probably be at least partially clogged, hope this helps
