Hello, Clutch not disengaging properly

Hello
I have a Hero Honda CD Dawn 100cc bike
Milometer 23500 kms
Problem : When I put bike in gear and pull cluch lever ie, free the engine it is somewhat engaged.
In previous days the clutch was making the engine fully free. Now if I push the bike with gear ON and clutch lever PULLED I have to use a great amount of force to do so while previously it was very easy.
Also when I ride the bike the top speed of bike has been lowered and also if I pull the clutch while riding then also bike seems to slow down.
But there are no problem in shifting gears and other functions but engine is definetly working harder ie producing more horse power for lower speeds.

It looks like you have worn clutch plates very common on learner bikes. but do try to adjust the clutch cable first by winding the adjuster on the clutch lever. if this fails drain the eng oil and remove the left hand eng cover to get at the clutch plates. remove the springs by turning retaining bolts about 6 of them. then your clutch plates will slide out off the drum any bent steel plates even a little replace. any dark or burnt friction plates also replace, usually done all in one go and quite cheap to do . fit new parts in exactly reverse order dont forget new oil re set cable and off you go p.s also check clutch basket for tiny notches from plate wear if very little a gentle file will sort this

Try to adjust the clutch play.open the right hand side box u can see the clutch adjuster, decrease or increase clutch play as it needs.still problem persists then check problems in clutch plates and disk or clutch worm.if necessary then change it.after that it will be fine

Hello,

Have you checked to see if the clutch lever is working properly? If the clutch stays engaged, the bike won't move. You can lubricate the clutch cable by removing it and taping a cardboard cone to the housing and pour a lightweight (30w) motor oil into the cone. Next, move the cable back and forth for a minute or so so that the oil will flow down inside the cable.

If the clutch cable is working correctly then then clutch plates are not disengaging when put into gear. Try different gears to see if it does the same thing. Also, have you changed the oil in the bike? Your bike uses a wet clutch system which means that the oil you put in the crankcase is also used for your clutch plates. Using a synthetic oil will cause problems with your bike (according to Honda).

Hopefully this will give you a few more ideas to try. If you need more information, please post a reply/comment and I will get back with you.
