2004 Yamaha V Star Custom Logo

I purchased a used 2004 650 yamaha custom motorcycle and found the air cleaner was disconnected. When I installed the new filter and housing the carbs seem to be running too rich because it has a major hesitation now when the throttle is opened half way. Is there a external fuel mixture screw that can be adjusted? I don't have a owners manual with this bike. Thanks, Dale

There is an idle screw on the right side of the motorcycle. However, I would suggest downloading an Owners Manual from the internet just for future use. It is free if you go to the correct site.

Air Electronic Cleaner - Electronic Whole House Air Cleaner

An electronic air cleaner can improve the indoor air quality as well as the performance of your heating and air conditioning system. That’s why many people are now investing in electronic air cleaners, to treat the air in their homes and minimize pollutants. Polarization technology now also effectively removes mold spores, bacteria, smoke and carcinogenic particles that other filter systems will not easily stop.

If you or someone in your family has health issues that relate to air quality, then an electronic air cleaner is the way to go. If you are installing a new heating or air conditioning system, then make sure you have an electronic air cleaner installed with the new system. If you have an existing hot air heat or air conditioning system, then you can have an electronic air cleaner installed in the old system. The new filter can be easily installed in most hot air heating systems.

An electronic air cleaner can clean up many bad things in the air that normal filters will not catch. For best results make sure to clean the plates often. The effectiveness of the air cleaner will degrade as the build up of dirt accumulates on the plates. Clean plates will give much better results. Electronic air cleaners can be effective in removing smoke and odors also. The only downsides to an electronic air cleaner that I have found are the noise (snapping or popping) and the creation of ozone in some instances. The noise you will get used to after awhile. The ozone will be stronger if the air cleaner is too large for the building. If it is a problem, either speed up the air flow or install a smaller air cleaner.

When installed into your home’s heating and cooling system, an electronic air cleaner traps and filters up to 99% of airborne particles passing through the system to make sure cleaner air is distributed to all rooms in your home. When this air goes through an electronic air cleaner, the pre-filter traps the majority of the large particles. The particles that are too small to be trapped in the pre-filter are charged positive, and then attracted to negatively charge plates.

This advanced air cleaner captures microscopic impurities like dust, smoke and smog particles in addition to larger particles like mold spores and cat dander. Plus, you can say goodbye to monthly filter replacements by simply washing the air cleaner cells in your dishwasher or sink. If you have pets, smokers, allergy or asthma suffers in your home, you may want to think about a whole-house electronic air cleaner.

Electronic air cleaners overall are a great way to filter the air that you breathe and make sure that the quality of the air in your home is the best quality.

1989 yamaha pro hauler. How do I change the rear axle oil. Also where is the oil filter. Also the air intake sponge is soaked with oil, and it has a ton of oil in the box where the air intake sponge is......

The axle drain is on the bottom of gear housing. The fill is on the side. On the side of the engine there is a round cover with 3 bolts, the filter is under that. Check your oil level, if it is high the oil will be pumped into the airbox. The filter can be washed with foam air filter cleaner.

Gasoline in the crankcase starts and runs then within a few seconds gasoline pours out of the air cleaner housing. 200 tw Yamaha

Check if float chamber needle closes correctly in carb. I had a worn needle, that was not closing. When float chamber was full, fuel still flows, and its level reached the air cleaner.
additional advise 1.: check the air cleanerfoam. The fuel probabaly damaged it.
additional advise 2.: When you`ll install new needle, the needle housing tube has sharp edge of the opening. I would recommend to chamfer it, it could scratch the new needle (happened in my case :-((

Air filter location

The air cleaner is underneath the fuel tank, above the carburetors, in a housing that basically resembles a coffin. The housing is held to the carburetors by four flexible clamps at the bottom of the carburetor joints, and the housing halves are joined by ten phillips-head screws. Remove the fuel tank, loosen the flexible clamps, remove the housing from atop the carburetors, remove the screws from the top housing, split the housing halves; the air cleaner may now be removed and replaced. Reassemble in reverse order.

Where is the air filter and how to replace it?

Six cylinder:
The air cleaner element is inside the air cleaner housing on the left side of the engine compartment. (It has a large hose connected to it).

To replace it: Disconnect the hose from the air cleaner housing cover with flat-tipped screwdriver.

Loosen the four bolts, and remove the air cleaner housing cover.

Remove the old air cleaner element.

Carefully clean the inside of the air cleaner housing with a damp rag.

Place the new air cleaner element in the air cleaner housing.

Reinstall the air cleaner housing cover, and tighten the four bolts.

Connect the hose to the air cleaner housing cover with a flat-tipped screwdriver.

Hope this helps you.

How much should a sevice cost you on a XT125X YAMAHA

If you can do it yourself it would be about $30.00 for oil, filter ,new spark plug and to clean and reoil the air cleaner with air cleaner oil.
Most if not all of this stuff you can get at fleet farm to avoid dealer costs. but make sure you use some good quality oil that is made for motorcycles car oil IS NOT.
