I have a customer expieriancing the same pronblem I would lean to the cam timing or the auto decopresion is worn out from what I can see the part is real loos in the cam and may not be holding as it is passing the shim cup. But first thing check the cam timing as the chain can become very loos due to the manuel screw that gets ignored and the cahin will come loos.

Chances are you need to do a complete tune up. This means a new spark plug, cleaning the carb, new air filter and new piston rings. I would also re-seat the valves. Any further top end work ( replacing valves, bore cylinder and new piston ) is entirely based on what is found after tearing into the head.

Im gonna purchase a 06 rmz 450 im 6ft 4 and 300 lbs am i gonna have to adjust suspension add stiffer springs and oil or will stock be ok i want to play race and ride sometimes on tracks all day

i have that bike i am 6ft and 165 lbs the bike is awesome i love it, i have it the softest it can be and its still not a soft ride to just sit and cruise around on the bush tracks. the 4 speed gear box is alright makes going up tuff rutty hills hard but hold on and keep the throttle on and it will go. bike pulls in any rev range even when iv doubled someone so it has the torque
best of luck

Cant figure out how to check the oil on my 2007 rmz 450

I've had an '06 and now '08 RMZ450 so I'll assume the '05 is the same. To check the oil level you run the bike till it's warm and then shut it off. Wait for a couple of minutes and then about halfway up the clutch cover is a level bolt. Remove the bolt and if the level is correct there should be a slight dribble of oil coming out the bolt hole.
