this is very difficult to explain. I don't think there is a bleeder plug for the bike, you need to open up the clutch reservoir on the right handle bar.. I know of a video that will help...

spary some wd-40 and paly with it. becareful not to brake the key if no love hit the lock smith or lock bike shop. if they brake the key. they should replace it.

the cover that you took off to do the front sproket is where the clutch push rod gets pushed by the slave cylinder take cover off thats the only thing that could go wrong
Common problem with Storms, you will need a new regulator and battery, the alternator can be checked by measuring the resistance across the 3 wires, 0.2 to 0.5 ohm but they rarely go wrong
Make sure the replacement reg has a heatsink, newer Honda versions do
