Before you have to spend money on the seal, try this.Get some camera film. You will find some around.Cut off the notched edge, cut one end at 45% so you have a piece about 4 inches long.Slide the 45% end into the fork seal and slowly work it up and down and also sideways to get it up into the fork.Once you get it in there, slowly move it up and down as you slide it all the way around the fork seal.Chances are you will FEEL some grit.Take it out and clean the film and start again. It might take 3-4 times to go all around the seal untill it's clean. This works very well and may save you from a fork seal rebuild. It costs nothing and some not so good shops do exactly this.Hope this helps you

HOW DO I TAKE SEALS OUT OF THE FORKS

The forks need to come apart.
I highly recommend getting the factory service and repair manual.
You will need a seal driver tool, and measure the correct amount of fork oil. This isn't a simple job, and it's why I recommend the book.
