Got a cagiva Mito 125 2001 plate , ever since i got it it seems like its had a very sticky switch , when ever i go to start it sometiems it fires first time other times i have t ow8 5 minutes. Anyway i went to get on my bike this mroning and the battery just kept making a clicking noise then after a high pitched squeel , tried bumping it of a car and evn a new battery wat is the problem !!??? :( can anyone help me
I made this a problem with my bike after a rebuild! Turned out to be a screw on the front starter relay right at the front (cross headed screw) wasnt fully screwed in, hence causing a bad earth and causing the clicking sound to appear to be coming from the relay switch under the seat.
You want to gurantee that it is an earth problem?? Try hitting the subframe with a metal spanner or flicking the footpegs up and down.. youll find it then starts first time!
Peace
The clicking sound is probably the starter relay. The squealing sound is probably the starter motor. One of these items is very likely the problem. Find the starter relay and bridge the two large cables hooked to the top of it with a large screwdriver. If the starter spins the engine when you do this, then you've got a bad starter relay. If it doesn't spin, then the problem is most likely with the starter motor or the cable going to it.
The first thing I would suspect is the Battery ground cable. It may be loose. Or low battery voltage. Then check starter relay ground, and last the starter solenoid for a loose connection. Otherwise the starter motor could be dragging and needs to be replaced. These are the possible basic faults. "in my humble opinion" kl.
Hi there ive got a cagiva mito evo on a W plate an it wont start cos theres not enough powerr to start it but the battey is new and are they known for earthing problems
The clicking noise is the relay which means there is not enough power in the battery to start it , try a new battery
