As soon as i try to put it in gear it dies, why? all of the wiring was redone, maybe was something not done right? or maybe is a wire missing or done wrong? it runs great when you start it up then when you push in clutch and try to change to first gear it stops right away the year of the motor is 1985

At this point I would be looking at the safety switches. There is one on the clutch perch and should be one on the side stand. Disconnect and check switch operation with a multimeter. make sure both are closing as they should. not unusual for the side stand switch to hang up due to oil and road grime down at that level. work the side stand up and down and make sure it goes ALL the way up and contacts the switch. make sure that the clutch switch is opening as it should fully when you pull in the clutch.

There is a side stand cut out switch to stop you riding off with it down, either the plunger on the switch is stuck in or the switch isnt wired up (or not correctly). hope this helps

Misses when u stomp on it

There is nothing more frusterating than trying to find your way in a strange place in total darkness...Which is what you are asking me to do. You expect someone to tell you what is wrong with your vehicle when you haven't even bothered to mention what kind of vehicle you have? Then you turn around and tell me that the vehicle is missing parts and has computer codes indicating engine control system failures that have apparently not been fixed?

Sorry, I broke my crystal ball when I went to tech school and I cannot afford a replacement right now...too many people wanting FREE miricles!

I have an 1989 4.3 it wont start unless i press the gas pedal down. then once it is started it idles fine but as soon as you put it into gear and try to give it throttle it dies, but if i am lucky enough...

Change the gas filter if you havn't already done so. It sounds like fuel restriction to me or perhaps a faulty fuel pump or cheap gas has blocked the gas filter. Hope this helps! Good luck!

1995 mitsubishi mirage engine wobbles and dies after heating up.

It could be that the valves need adjusting or redone. When they heat up it swells the rubber and the metal. If you have a bent valve it should do it all the time or it could be one of the valve springs is going. Either way it sounds like it is something in the valve or the valve seats or the springs.

Bike dies when put into gear.

worse thing is trying to diagnose something someone else got wrong. All you can do is go online and get clymer's repair book. A book can direct you into diagnosing a problem that happened on its own but no one knows what you may have done to mess it up. Your going to have to retrace your steps if it was working before.

Engine dies when shift into gear.

This sounds like the kick stand switch is bad or not making full contact.

Missing, loss of power, etc.

sounds from afar like a problem i had after installing after market spark plug cables on a diff. car. make sure you have factory-quality/ even mits. brand cables. (right parts vs. after mkt.?- no contest.)
